Description

Styrax tonkinensis is a wild tree that grows up to 35 metres
tall in Laos, Thailand and northern Vietnam. The balsamic resin
is collected by cutting the trunks of trees over 7
years old and is yellow to brown in colour. It is traditionally
used by indigenous people as a healing remedy
for its antiseptic, expectorant, antiseptic,
disinfectant and aromatic properties. In the cosmetics industry it is used as
a fragrance fixative and preservative in soaps, perfumes and creams
