It is used as a strengthener and texture enhancer for emulsions, helping to stabilize creams. With softening, nourishing, and protective properties.

Stearic acid is used as an emulsifier for forming base creams, sometimes employed as emulsions.

It aids in the stability of W/O (water-in-oil) emulsions and is incorporated into the oil phase, in a proportion of 2-10%.

It can be used alone as a self-emulsifier; heat the oils, and it is recommended to use a vegetable butter for consistency along with a starch. As a co-emulsifier, use between 2-5%, generally with cetyl alcohol or another emulsifying wax at the recommended dosage.

As a fatty ingredient in soap formulas, it helps achieve trace, adds hardness to soaps, and stabilizes foam. It can be used as a palm oil substitute.
