Description
Waxy substance exuded from the leaves and green parts of Copernicia cerifera in Brazil. It comes in the form of small, irregular, light yellow flakes and is barely soluble in solvents at room temperature; solubility improves above 45°C.
Carnauba wax is highly durable and glossy, and is added to other waxes to increase the melting point, hardness, and luster.
