Description
Jojoba oil is obtained from the seeds of Simmondsia chinensis. This oil penetrates the skin very easily, providing a soothing, moisturizing, and softening action. It can be applied to all skin types.
In natural cosmetics, it is used as:
- Facial moisturizers (usually at night),
- In acne treatments or for very oily skin (it is recommended to add a few drops of tea tree or thyme essential oil)
- On dry skin to soften it and provide a feeling of hydration
- In baths. Add two tablespoons of jojoba oil to the bathwater. It buffers the drying effects of tap water.
- For brittle and flat hair, to be applied directly or by mixing a few drops with your regular shampoo.
- Hair shine and volume. Add 7 drops of oil to your shampoo, letting it act for 3 minutes before rinsing.
- Aftershave lotion: equal parts water and jojoba oil. Apply to the face. It eliminates redness and leaves the skin soft.
- Makeup remover. Place a few drops of jojoba oil on a cotton pad.
