Description
Liquid soap for cleaning works of art, capable of cleaning everything from paper to stone. It is supplied in a dense concentration and must be diluted before use. Potassium oleate incorporating methyl cyclohexyl, with germicidal action. pH: 11.0. Concentrated, soluble in water or White Spirit. Does not foam. Vulpex is used (6% to 7% by volume) in water to clean nicotine and atmospheric contamination from varnish surfaces. If the varnish needs to be removed, this is done with normal, appropriate solvent systems. Restorers often find more dirt (insufficient cleaning) beneath the varnish.
