Description
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is an anionic surfactant
used in a variety of non-parenteral pharmaceutical formulations.1 It is a detergent and wetting agent, effective in
acidic and alkaline solutions and in hard water. It is used in medicated shampoos,
as a skin cleanser and in toothpastes. It forms foam and bubbles and
is suitable for removing oil and grease from the skin and hair.
