Description
Urea, also known as carbamide, carbonyl diamide. It appears as a white, crystalline solid in spherical or granular form. It is a hygroscopic substance, meaning it has the ability to absorb water from the atmosphere, and has a slight ammonia odor. It is soluble in water, alcohol, and ammonia. Slightly soluble in ether and others at room temperature. It is used as a fertilizer, a feed supplement for livestock, and in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.
