Also known as Sodium Thiosulfate. It is a white, translucent solid or powder. Its main use is as a fixing agent in photography, for film development and silver extraction. It is also used in leather processes and in chemical manufacturing, as a source of the sulfide ion, and in industrial treatments for paper, textiles, water and gas.
