Shea (Vitellaria paradoxa) is a tree up to 15 meters tall from the tree savannas of West Africa. The name shea means ‘butter tree’. This tree can live up to three centuries, and its trunk diameter can measure up to one meter. Its composition is very complex, identifying palmitic, stearic, oleic, and linoleic acids, as well as a unique unsaponifiable fraction that gives it excellent moisturizing and emollient properties.
It penetrates the deepest layers of the skin, giving it a satin appearance and helping to protect it from UVB and UVA radiation. It is an ideal product for therapeutic massage, balsamic formulations, treatment of joint pain, and many other uses.
It provides well-being and protection to the skin. Shea butter is suitable for skin care in dry or extremely cold climates, as well as when exposed to irritating factors such as wind, salt water, or chlorinated water.
