Description

It is frequently used as a pH indicator, as it remains colourless in acidic solutions but turns pink in the presence of bases. In chemistry it is used in laboratory analysis, research and fine chemicals. In chemical analysis it is used as an indicator for acid-base titrations, with its transition point around that pH value, making the colour change from colourless to pink. The reagent is prepared at 1% w/v in 90° alcohol and has an indefinite shelf life.
