Description
Frequently abbreviated as TEA, it is a viscous liquid (though it may appear as a solid when impure, depending on the temperature), clear, pale yellow, slightly hygroscopic and volatile, fully soluble in water and miscible with most oxygenated organic solvents. It has a mild ammoniacal odor. This chemical product is used as a pH-balancing ingredient in cosmetic, hygiene, and cleaning preparations. Cosmetic and hygiene products in which it is used for this purpose include skin lotions, eye gels, moisturizers, shampoos, and shaving foams.
